For AMD's sake I hope their mobile quads compare to Intel's offerings. AMD has been heavily lacking in the mobile performance market lately.

Yeah, hopefully AMD will finally have something they haven't had in a while; a good mobile processor.

AMD might show them off. ...but won't release those CPUs until May. IIRC, that is.

    TOO LATE.
Intel already release their new Core i3,i5 and i7 based on 32 nm lithography.
It includes a AES computational unit in core thus it should beat AMD traditionally it was best at.
I can almost smell AMD's demise.
Lets hope their acquired ATi can save them...
I don't know if my eyes were playing tricks on me but passmark rated the Intel Graphics high scores
It was higher than ATi Integrated and Nvidia Integrated.
Although Notebookcheck rated them as the same.
Oh well I think it is time to do way with the slogan "Can't play games on Intel Graphics"

Problem for AMD is that notebook manufacturers pick their best CPUs. The Turion II Ultra was almost nowhere to be found in stores.

I hope 2.6 - 3.1 Ghz dual core offerings catch the eye of consumers.

If their quad-core model is going to be anything like their past mobile offerings, the heat and power consumption will be unmanageable. Still, it'll be great to see some alternative offerings.

But one thing I can't say, is that the performance from the past offerings were all that bad. I briefly had a DV7z with the Turion II M600 and it tore through some serious numbers. But like you said, the bottom of the notebook felt like the surface of the sun!

i don't think it will be that bad.. TDP is same as intel quads and all.... however , if they do perform better than Intel ones , i wouldn't mind getting a notebook with AMD CPU and ATI card...otherwise it's Intel and ATI card...
