they both run at about the same speed, the t7500 runs at 2.2 and the t8100 runs at 2.1. but the improvement in the architecture of the t8100 more then makes up the extra 100mhz of the t7500 and 1 extra mb on the cache level. the t7500 is made up on a older 65nm fab, the t8100 is made up in a newer fab process of 45nm, so it runs alot cooler and draws less power. i have the t7500 and t8300, the t8300 runs alot cooler then the t7500 and battery lasts a litte longer.

the architecture improvements in the newer Core 2 cpus 45nm fab vs 65nm is somewhere between 3-15%. the median average seems to be about 6-8%.

on another news, the t8100 seems to run cheaper on ebay then the t7500 does. there is more listens of the t7500 vs t8100 but i have seen t8100s go for $60 vs $80-$90 for the other one. i have the t7500 and t8300 and the t8300 runs alot cooler then the t7500 and battery lasts a litte longer.

Go for the T8100----cooler, same speed, maybe cheaper, and draw less power=longer battery life and less money on the power bill.

The T8100 is a 45nm so it runs much cooler than the T7500 (65nm). The T7500 is probably slightly faster in most cases.

No, yotano211 is right that the 45nm core 2 chips are a bit faster clock for clock than the 65nm core 2 chips.
