My sound was working fine when I first got home around 3, then I had to lock it for a short time and set it on my bed, when I picked it back up it beeped, wasn't overheating or anything but the sound just stopped working. I uninstalled the driver and tried a new one, but I think I may be doing something wrong. My input works, the card recognizes the microphone input. The sound doesn't come out of the speakers or headset.

    i think there is a 24hr bumping system ;)

I have never had the problem, is there a function key for muting. Maybe try checking that the audio is not force muted.

Does restarting the system do anything for you?

Does the audio appear in device manager?

    Volume is set to %100.
I restarted multiple times, not even a Vista log on sound.
The microphone input shows in the audio, but I play test sounds and get the error message of "Failed to play test tone".
No idea of what could have happened. So much for watching a movie later tonight :/
