Hi everyone!
I'm a new user on this forum so please forgive me if i'll do some errors. Also I'm from Italy so I apologize for my poor english.
Back to the thread: I own a Asus K550VX-XX107T with a i7-6700hq, gtx 950m, 4 gb of ram. I already added a 8 gb ram module and a SSD. It's really fast, but I can't stand looking at this display. I use it for university purposes, so I have to read a lot of pdf. I also spend a lot of time on youtube and watching films. I don't play a lot of games, so I thought to upgrade to a IPS panel.
Out of the box this notebook uses a 15,6" InnoLux N156BGE-EA2 1366x768 WXGA TN panel, with backlight Led illumination, and 1-Lane 30 pin eDP connector. I read that with 1-Lane eDP cable it can support resolution till 1600x900. So I searched for a IPS 1366x768 panel and I found a LG LP156WHA-SPA1 with 30 pin eDP connector and Led illumination. Can I upgrade to this LG panel?
There is also a FHD version of this notebook, Asus K550VX-DM108T and similar. Is there a possibility to change my eDP cable to 2-Lane, maybe from K550VX-DM108T laptop, and upgrade to FHD? Where I could find this cable? I live in Italy so shipments from US may cause some problems.
Thank you for your help; correct this thread please if I made some mistakes.

Yes, the LG panel will work, as your model also came with FHD screens, probably you can use the same cable for FHD screen as well and don't need to buy 2 lane cable, however please check with the Asus service manual or in their forums as I have no experience with Asus laptops.

Thank you for your help, but I couldn't been able to find useful info about eDP cable lane. Asus service manual don't even speak about display ( https://www.asus.com/supportonly/K550VX/HelpDesk_Manual/ ). Is there a possibility to find a physical difference between 1 lane and 2 lane eDP cable disassembling the display?
