Hello forums!
I was thinking of apply some upgrades to my laptop right now, over time my display is not getting a correct picture somewhat distorted and is it possible to have an IPS upgrade on this? if there are panels that are compatible to my laptop (IPS is much better) please give me some recommendation and successful install.
Here's the model of my current LCD:
- Chi Mei [Unknown Model: CMN15AB]
second is my wifi card, it performs not as expected anymore, I'll manually apply the IP address and thus it works. Here's my current wifi card:
- RealTek Semiconductor RTL8168/8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC
Others like SSDs and such will more likely included on the planned upgrade.
upgrade suggestions is always welcome! Cheers!

What are the exact specs of your machine and what do you use it for? That usually determines whether an upgrade is needed or not.

Model: ASUS X550DP
CPU: AMD APU A8 (I upgrade my CPU to an A10)
GPU: RADEON HD8000 series
I usually use this as my daily driver but as time goes by, I look for a higher specs capable of doing VM and gaming. -

The A8 is soldered to the board - upgrading to an A10 is not possible as far as I know
Honestly, considering how old the machine is, upgrading to a mid-range laptop with a newer KLR CPU or Ryzen Mobile would be optimal. What's your total budget? -

Seems the majority of this thread is getting a new laptop and wait for the 8th gen intel or RYZEN for this. ECS 2018 is just around the corner for their new product lineups.

imo, upgrading anything past an SSD (which you can move to a new system as needed), the RAM (always max out the RAM as early in the purchase as possible to max out the performance received from the platform during it's ownership, and the O/S + drivers + software to the latest is a futile endeavor.
Not only is the system usually just a side-grade (not an upgrade) from the previous system in use, but I've seen many times where the system is rendered non-working after the attempt too.
A new platform allows you to truly compare the new to the old and make a solid decision of whether the $$$$ is worth the advances a new platform offers, of which 'performance' is but one aspect.
It also allows the old setup to be passed on to someone else, 'in whole'... (either donated or sold, if need be) and be enjoyed and useful for an extended period of time past the owners growing requirements.
For the budget that is available, a new platform offers too many benefits in all aspects of the computing spectrum to consider upgrading anything in the old platform.
