    Hello,

I recently bought new ASUS notebook ASUS X551CA. I found out pretty fast, that my notebook doesn't have slot for CDs. I was looking around on the web a bit, and I found out that to have CD/DVD installed, that's kinda optional or something.
So if I can upgrade it to have that slot for CD/DVD, can I maybe have 2x HDD?
I found out that going from desktop PC with SSD, to not something that would make me happy. I'm used on 15sec boot, not more then 1minute, and also other performance, like installing new programs, launching programs, system scan etc.
So I'm wondering to upgrade my notebook to SSD. I found out with some programs, that my curent HDD is connected via SATA3 6Gb/s port, so that would be perfect for SSD I guess.
But what about another slot for disk? Could I have SSD on that 6Gb/s SATA, and somehow put default HDD on the slot, where CD reader could be?
I belive CD/DVD slot is also connected via SATA, and same power connector as HDD ...

So can anyone tell me, if it would be possible to have 1x SSD + 1x HDD in my notebook at the same time.

Another question is about RAM. I downloaded plenty of programs to detect how many slots do I have. Some programs showed 1 and some of them 2. So I would like to ask if anyone know how many slots I acctually have, and if I can maybe buy 1 more RAM, to have 8GB then.

I would open my notebook by myself and check for all those details, but somehow I couldn't manage to open it ... and I don't want to use too much force, because I could break something and then my quaranty would be useless.

Hope to get some answers :)

AFAIK i DVD drive can be swapped for an hdd, but i'm not an expert. I actually had a question of my own for you. How is that laptop for basic computing? A frind has asked me to recommend one, so i'm looking around and stumbled on this

Well for basic computing it seems good for me. Basicly I bought it for doing things for school etc, but I already tested with some games, and I can say, that I can play League of Legends on medium settings with no problems. No laggs etc. But ofcourse, it can't run the newest game since that's some kind of budget notebook ;)

But if you are planning to use it for Word, Excel, Youtube, movies, surfing the web etc. you won't have any trubles as long as you are using Windwos 8. I first tried to have W7 on it, but somehow they provide Drivers only for Windows8. But I'm starting to like it ^^

So by my opinion, that 400€ notebook (at least that much it cost in Slovenia), is worth of it's money :)
