I just read about this beast--sounds really cool.

So essentially, can I buy a laptop with integrated graphics to save money and concentrate on the RAM and faster CPU. Then purchase the XG Station later?

Does anyone know what the price is going to be?

I'm in the market for a new laptop now and this thing would totally solve my dilema. I wouldn't spend that much money on the GPU and just get a nice base model.

So, do I have this right?

No... You would have to buy the XG station and company it with ANOTHER lcd, which in term, cost wise not efficient. The XG station is for those who need a very portable laptop with more amount of battery time, but still have the need of having a powerful machine to play gpu intensive games at home. That's where the XG comes into play. XG station are rumored to have a price tag of $600, whether if a monitor is included, that i dunno. You can goto Asus forum and search the topic of XG station.. there are a lot of debates there which u would like to know as well. But u might take some time to read tru it thou.

please look here for xg station information. Remember you will need an expresscard slot. The 7900 versions will be around $600. More information in that thread.

You do have it right. I am hoping there will be a cardless station sold so I can do exactly the same, but i won't need any of the cards Asus will offer as full packages.
