I don't know if this is the right area to ask this question but does the ASUS UL30VT-A1 work fine with Windows 10? I posted this on the Microsoft forums and they said it meets what Windows 10 needs and will work fine but is that true? Here's the specs for the notebook. Will Windows update get all needed drivers for run everything fine? I know as of now Windows 10 has been updated a lot compared when it first came out so just wondered if it will work for sure now without problems. I know that ASUS won't have drivers for Windows 8 or 10 since back then ASUS never knew Windows 8 or 10 will be out. Thanks

No matter what answers you get:

Grab a new/used/spare/borrowed HDD to test on.

Clone the new drive with your current/working image.

Upgrade to Windows 10 (this will ensure your system will activate properly later...) on your test drive.

Now, download the Win10 ISO and burn it to an USB key. Format the (test) drive and do a clean install of Win10x64 (Pro recommended). Don't worry about activation. When you connect to the 'net, it will activate properly (if you let it activate after upgrading your current image...).

Now, let it download all the drivers it requires. Now test with the software and workflows/workloads you require.

If all systems are green at this point? Backup your original data to at least two safe places and do the same to the original HDD as outlined above (you should just need to do a clean install and then drivers and software and finally, put your data back on there).

Unless and until you do the above for your specific situation; it doesn't matter what answers you get - do this and you can let the rest of the world know. ;)

    Good luck.

Actually I have been using Windows 10 and works fine most drivers did get installed only one didn't was the Nvidia GeForce G210M and the way to install it was download the drivers from ASUS for the model ULV30T and then download both VGA drivers one was patch and one was driver and extract them and first just normally open the patch and it won't show any install wizard or anything and you are done for that patch and then go to device manager and then click on the Basic graphics driver and then update and browse for the driver and click Have Disk and then go to the folder where the video driver is at and then open the Display folder and then it will show the "nvmvam" file and use that to install the drivers. Also I used it to install the Intel GMA 4500MHD drivers also since it has those drivers also but you don't have to. I also just in case used that drivers to install each Nvidia HD audio drivers also. I also just in cause even downloaded Realtek audio drivers from ASUS for my notebook also and did the same way of installing it.

You can't use the setup installation it will not work on both even if set to Windows 7 compatibility mode using admin mode.

By the way the only required installation is the Basic video driver update since that's the Nvidia GeForce G210M video card once you update that it also automatically installs the Intel OEM driver also since they are connected together. I just have OCD so I installed each to make sure it works.

Also you will need to reboot manually after done since the Intel video card showed as not working since it needs reboot. Either-way you should reboot after installing video drivers.

I did try to do a full system reset that cleans my files also and Windows 10 like new and found out that Windows installs the generic version of the Nvidia GeForce G210M and that will not work so I had to uninstall the driver and make sure select remove driver software but before you do this turn off WiFi so after you reboot it won't auto detect generic drivers again and install them. After that do the same thing I said before on how to install it. All I can say is that I thought it will do the same thing as right when I upgraded the OS from Windows 7 to 10 but it didn't apparently. Maybe because when I did a full system reset and fully cleaned my files Windows 10 installed drivers differently unlike when just upgrading. Everything else works fine looks like though. But as I said before don't use setup wizard to install video drivers since it won't install a thing.
