Just read some news about ATI announce new chipset 1250, it is designed for Merom and intergrated X700, it also has a PCI-E X16 slot allow user to insert a dedicated card.

Does it mean user can swich between intergrated and dedicated?

No, it just means that currently integrated but can have a dedicated graphics card attached onto it like any other integrated graphics board. Also, what do you mean by integrated X700?

Only certain notebooks have this feature, such as the Sony SZ and the now-discontinued Alienware Area-51 m5500. In order to switch graphics cards, the machine must be restarted.

What is probably meant by the PCI express x16 slot is that a version of the chipset will use a dedicated graphics card instead of integrated graphics. You can't install one yourself unless the notebook is MXM-compliant, and even then, the upgrading is iffy. Laptops were never intended to have their graphics cards upgraded, it is one of the parts that you should get when you buy the notebook.

So my understanding now is: If I choose the integrated version, then it comes together with the chipset. If I want dedicated graphic, I need to buy a maybe X1600, and slot it in, the integrated GPU become useless, an I right? I can choose one of the two only, cant have both.

The news also says that the integrated graphic on ATI 1250 chipset is using the same core as X700, so I guess it is good for game, huh?

It sounds like you are a desktop user. ;) With any laptop, never expect to upgrade anything but the RAM + HDD, buy everything else with the laptop when you get it. Most of all, the video card will not be upgradeable. If you want an X1600, but a laptop that has one, no way around it.
