ATI HD3650 1GB VRAM DX 10.1 vs nVidia GeForce 9500M GS 512MB
Each laptop would have 4gb of ram.
Laptop 1. ATI - Intel Core 2 Duo Penryn T8300 2.4GHz 3MB 800FSB
Laptop 2. nVidia - Intel Core 2 Duo Penryn T9300 2.5GHz 6MB 800FSB
First off which card is better, second which setup would be better.

The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
I think the Ati 3650 has more power than 9500GS.Plus there isn't much difference between T8300 and T9300.

The NVidia is better. Well it just is and second the T9300 is just a little better than T8300. There is no way the HD3650 can effectively make use of 1GB VRAM with it's bus. If using 32bit OS will not be able to make use 4GB's with 1GB of VRAM will be able to make use of less vs 9500m

i may be wrong on this but I thought the HD3650 has ddr3 compared to 9500GS and ddr2. If so the 3650 is better. If not they're both equally the same.

OK I could be wrong, I know this site has some flaws but here is a link. And as a card I am sure ATI might be better at some things, NVidia has gaming. Also look at this it compares the desktop version (all it had) HD3650 which is clocked higher than mobile. Did not have 9500m but did have 8600m GT which is close, link. The GT beats the desktop in Pixel Fill Rate and Texture Fill Rate. Both can have DDR2 or GDDR3.
I go back to 32bit OS. Max 4GB memory addresses which means Windows can only make use of about 3GB's of RAM. Well if you double the VRAM you lower that 3GB of RAM to maybe 2.5. 128bit bus that I doubt can effectively make use of beyond 256MB while sometimes benign, 1GB in this case is not since it takes away from potentially usable RAM. It is a bad system configuration. If using 64bit not an issue.
