this is installed inside a dell latitude d600.
i realize its an old video card, but can it run autocad?
what kind of games would it be able to play?
thanks! and what wold you say the below laptop would cost? he is asking $300 for it:
14" PERFECT lcd - 1.6ghz Intel Mobile CPU - 1GB Ram
60GB Hard Drive - CD-DVD Player - CD-Rewriteable Drive - Wireless Connection
Network Connection for High Speed - Perfect Battery - Charger

For $300 you are better off getting a cheap dell or hp.
Autocad really does not use much of the graphics card for actual work.
You need a lot of cpu power. and the d600 to my recall has a pentium m processor in it.
The system will not be able to run Cad very well, and it will not be able to play much of any games. The ati mobility 9000 is a really weak card on account that that series of Ati cards came out like 5 yrs ago.
You would be better buying a new cheap AMD Turion X2 laptop or a Intel Core 2 laptop for say $500.
I know a guy on the forums here. Nizzy1115 is selling his Vostro with a dual core cpu for about $500, and it will perform much better than that d600

it was for $425, and i was gonna buy it but i didnt at the end.
its sold now.
but vostro 1500 is TOO BIG.
i gotta carry it around..
i need the laptop around december,
so i was thinking, maybe i'll just wait and see if ebay gets their prices dropped for the vostro 1500. or even the 1400. -
You should keep an eye out for the nbr marketplace (used to be called buy and sell section)
Their have been a lot of laptops for sale, and their must be one which fits your style, soze and price.
You should also check on hardforum to. They primarily sell desktop stuff but occasionally a laptop comes up at a good price.
You really want to find a laptop with a core 2 duo 2.0Ghz processor or more, and say a 8400GS graphics card or an equivalent 3450 or so from ATI.
Good luck,

ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 AGP 4x = enough for autocad?
