For all of us who own a laptop powered by an NVIDIA 3D vision capapble GPU without a DVI Dual output, there may be hope! There is a survey poll and forums.nvidia.com asking how many owners of mid range to high powered laptops with GPU's capable of 3D would be interesed in a Display port to DVI Dual Nvidia 3D vision certified adapter.
DisplayPort to Dual-link DVI adapter for 3D Vision Poll - NVIDIA Forums

I know I would. I bought the external monitor, glasses, only to find out that without DVI Dual it's not possible. I have an XPS 15 with a GTX435M and the only thing preventing me from having the full 3D experience is lack of DVI.

So please please spread this around and answer the poll. The OP is an Nvidia employee named ManuelG. Here was his reply

Thanks. At this point, it is looking like it won't happen until the end of the year. If I could get more users to comment in the poll, I would be able to get engineering resources to commit to do this earlier. If you know anyone else who is interested, please direct them to the poll.

    Thats for movies right?

Because if you expect the GT435m to give out a solid 120FPS in games at 1920x1080 then you are going to be dissapointed.

I take it your notebook has an earlier revision of HDMI connector?

    Meh.

Even if they could give me an nVidia 3D-Vision kit for free, I wouldn't use it. 3D seems more like a gimmick to me than the trouble it is worth. Give me a clean, clear, crisp 2D screen with nice brightness and contrast ratios, and I'm a happy clam.

See that's part of the misconception. The most you can get for 3D gaming using Nvidia certified monitor is 1680x1050 at 100MHZ or 120 if your card supports it. For movie watching you can use the 1680 resolution or 1920x1080 @ 60 on a regular 3D TV or DLP.
The issue is a connector issue. My laptop is powerful enough to run games at 1680x1050 but does not have the DVI dual link connector. It has HDMI 1.4a but that only works at 1920x1080 a 60MHZ for gaming or at 24FPS for movies.

So I'm asking that even if you don't want to use the 3D option with your 3D capable GTX based laptop, please go to the link and say that yes you are interested.

You already have that with your MX11. A clean crisp 2d screen. As do I. I have an XPS 15 but I should not be excluded from using 3D vision simply because there is no adapter for using it with Display port. I'm just asking that you lend your support/interest so that others like me who do wish to use the 3D option, can do it with their new expensive laptop.
    Thanks for your support. :D
