hey guys yesterday I "accidently" broke my screen. It was a lp156whb tlb1 model panel. So I decided to upgrade my panel to 1080p.I did some research in my native language but I did not find anything. Then I learnt that 1080p panels has to be 2 channels lvds input. But my broken screen was only 1 ch(and 40 pin).Question is if fullhd panel will work without any problem on my notebook. Notebook model asus x550jk. Thank you for your helps.

You need to know few things
    1. Has your laptop ever been sold with 1080p panel?
If yes, upgrade is possible. If no, then it is pretty certainly not going to work.

    2. If there was 1080p model, does it have same LCD Cable as 768p did.
If yes, then it is a drop-in replacement. If not, then you need to buy a compatible cable too.

I found out x550jk-dh71 have both 1080p and 768p models. My laptop is x550jk-xo012d. Almost everything is same even bios. Unfortunetly I couldn't find exact panel model for dh71.

From a quick search I can see that those laptops used a 30 pin connector for full HD (1920X1080) panels and 40 pin connectors for standard HD (1366X768) panels.

So you will need to get a 30 pin cable made for the X550jk.

Of course there is also a possibility that your motherboard is wired differently than the other models that came with higher resolution panels. So even with the right cable, things might not work. From some searching I found that your specific model (xo012d) was only offered with 1366x768 panels, and the DH71 was only sold with 1920x1080 panels. They might look similar but the motherboards may be different.

You may just be better off getting the same 1366x768 panel that you had before.
