I've just got my XPS M1530 with this configurations:
    Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 2.5 GHz 6MB L2-Cache
    4GB DDR2-SDRAM
    GeForce 8600M GT 256MB G-DDR3
200 GB 7200 RPM Free Fall Sensor Harddrive
    Intel Wireless Next-Gen
LCD WSXGA+ 1680x1050 TFT True Life the hardware ID is LPL010-F (LG right?)
    56-WHr battery.

    My questions:
    1. Is it possible for someone to manipulate the hardware ID? So the original is XXXXXX and someone change it to LPL010-F or other?

I thought of it because there are a lot of complain on LCD and a lot of people wants LG
    2. I use Vista Ultimate and on some Vista screen that shows light, it did not displayed smooth but it displayed blocks.
    Is it normal?
I just want to ask it, other things beside that displayed very good.

    Thank you very much.

This thread needs to be moved to the Dell Forum. Anyways you can find your display panel manufacturer by right clicking on My Computer, then properties. Then click device manager, look for monitors and then right click that and select properties. Then doubleclick Generic PnP monitor and select details tab, pull menu down and select hardware Ids. Then you should see a part #.
