i bought the Acer AL2223W 22in montior the other day. now im trying to install it on my laptop, dell e1405..and i cant seem to get the resolution setup. they only have al2223WD drivers on acers site and those dont really work. ive tried everything dont know what to do, im going to have to return it because it stays on 1040x728 max resolution and only other optin is 800x600.

any 1 know what could be wrong? i have tried this on xp and recently installed vista to see if drivers would work then, but no dice

I have the 2216W monitor from Acer, and all I had to do was plug it in and enable the monitor. Because I have the latest drivers for my video card, the resolution of 1680*1050 was recognized and it worked fine.

So when you only have those 2 choices, that means you don't have drivers installed. I say update ur gpu drivers and then it will work.
