Hi everyone,
I know this question will sound weird but here it goes. How do you remove the memory compartment cover on Acer Aspire 5000? I can see 2 screws on the bottom but when I remove them the cover does not move at all? Are there any more screws I am missing or a lock? The cover slides downwards a bit but then its a no go. Any ideas?
Thanks

I have an Acer as well and believe the memory compartment is the same on our two machines (at least it sounds like it is). What I did was remove the two screws and then (gently) insert a thin screwdriver or knife (not too far) under the compartment cover on the side the screws are on. Then pry this cover up and it pops off (you can also grab the cover with your fingers and gently pull it out and up). There are a couple of tabs that seem to snap into place and thus keep it there even when the two screws are removed.
I too wasn't sure what I had to do to get the cover off...didn't want to break anything, but this worked.
Good luck and I hope this helps. :acer: -
thanks. I'll try that
