    Hey guys,

I upgraded the ram on my Acer5672 and was wondering if I could use the original ram from the acer in my gateway3040gz? I opened the bottom of the gateway and found one slot for memory but didn't find a chip that I could take out. I tried to fit the memory chip in but it was a little too tight so I didn't want to force it. Are they not compatible with each other? Currently, the gateway laptop is only running 480mb ram according to the system so I was hoping I could fit a 512 chip in there and get closer to 1gb of ram.

    thanks.

The 3040GZ uses DDR memory whereas the 5672 uses DDR2 memory and so they are incompatile with each other.
