I have bought an Acer 5920g laptop with this processor

    Core2Duo t7300 (2ghz 800mhz fsb 4mb L2 cache)

It came with 2gb of pc5300 667mhz memory. I want to upgrade to 4gb but would pc6400 800mhz memory be compatible.

    thanks for any help given

800Mhz memory will downclock to 667MHz. The chipset does not support 800MHz, but the RAM will work at the slower speed.

    Go with the cheaper option.

yes you can mix the two speeds.. the faster ram will downclock to match the slower ram... which BTW is the fastest your motherboard chipset can use anyway..
