    Hi!
I'm really satisfied with my Acer aspire 1522LMi, but sometimes it is noisy because athlon64 for DTR (89W) generates a lot of heat. :( I have the latest BIOS v.1.11. Is it possible to change the cpu to mobile sempron (25w) or turion processor? Thank you for help. :)

Such upgrades usually depend on BIOS support. If the BIOS supports the newer Sempron/Turion, then there probably should'nt be any issues. The only way to know if the BIOS does support the newer cpu's is if someone already has done the upgrade successfully or if Acer can confirm the support for newer cpu's(highly unlikely but you could give call then and see).

I wrote an email, but as you said they to didn't confirm it, because they haven't test it.

well, if you are willing to take the risk then you could try the upgrade. I will say this that only a very few laptops which have the DTR Athlon64 can take the Turion. My Compaq couldnt, but some older Acer Ferrari models could as well as some Uniwells.

P.S - You could also try replacing the DTR Athlon with a LV Athlons. These have the same TDP as the Turions(35W). These might be compatible with the Acer BIOS. The 35W Athlon64's are very rare but might have a better success rate than the Turion.
