    Acer Aspire 1640 battery problem

    Hi everyone

    The following happens about 1 in 3 times. When I turn my this laptop ON with the battery in the CPU activity is about 100% in Windows. The file that makes the CPU crazy is "System.something" (I don't know the extension of this file). When this happens the keyboard and the mousepad freeze. When this happens a USB mouse and Keyboard works fine.
    If I remove the battery and use the AC Adapter then the laptop work fine with CPU activity between 0 and 4% when the laptop is idle.

    Something else. The battery charges fine and holds the charge for about an hour or so. When the battery is charged or is charging the Charging insicateur in Windows XP indicates that the charge level is only 2%.

    Any idea what' going on here?
