    Hey!

I just got an Acer Aspire 1692 from a friend of mine for 50€. I had to buy a charger and DVD drive. Not a bad deal, in my perspective since it's going to my sister that wants a laptop to check her mail and surf the web.

What I didn't know is that there is a jack in the audio output hole. Does anyone knows how to open the Aspire in order to access the audio holes?

    Thank you very much

Actually you do not need to take the laptop apart.

First, remove the harddrive and optical drive bays.
Then get a fine point x-acto blade and try removing the jack that way.
Please make sure that you remove the battery and ac power source before doing this.
    If this does not work,
I recommend getting strong neodyium earth magnets, which will pull that jack right out of the port.
It is worth a shot, cause if you take the whole system apart you will see that the port on the motherboard does not have a whole on the end, so you cant push it from the inside out
