hi all expert,
I just bought my Acer Desktop Replacement on 10th Sept 2004. Had upgraded the internal HD to 250GB Maxtor 7200rpm 8mb buffer. Also upgraded the ram to max (ie 2pcs of 333mhz 1GB DDR-SDRam). The OS that come along is Windows XP Home Editing. I face some problem and had contacted Acer Helpdesk. Their reply is slow and I am still waiting. Posting here and hope to find help...
Problem :
Whenever I plug in external HD, 'bluescreen' appear and follow by auto reboot. Interface of my external HD is both firewire connection and usb 2.0 connection. If I plug in my wires before the system start, everything seem ok. If the system started and I plug in my wires, the system will have bluescreen then auto reboot. I use the following HD and casing.
* 30GB IBM Notebook HD
* 60GB IBM Noteook HD
* 80GB Toshiba Notebook HD
* 80GB Seagate Desktop HD
* Sarotec Cutie 2.5" HD casing (firewire connection)
* Hotdrive 2.5" HD casing (firewire & USB connection)
* No names 2.5" and 3.5" casing. (mainly firewire connection)
* I also have a Maxtor 3000DV storage (firewire connection)
The Bios is '3A14' and just upgraded to the newly released Bios version '3A20'. Problem still persist.
Anyone can help ?
Acer Aspire 1711SC
