    hey I'm a noobie, just bought an acer aspire 3000 and I belive it uses pc2700 memory, up to 2 gigs. I was wondering if anyone could verify that for me.....also, I found this memory, I am sure that it will work in my acer but am also stupid, so b4 I burn $170, would someone please verify this as well,

    Also, if I upgrade from 512mb to 2GB how big of a difference will I see? is it worth the money?

    Yes, it uses PC2700 memory and has 2 slots which are easily accessible. 2GB will improve performance, but depends on what you plan on doing with it, if it is just basic everyday tasks then it is overkill. For gaming(some games) though it might be useful. I wouldnt suggest getting 2GB as 1GB is more than enough for most average users.

    The OCZ memory looks good and should be compatible with the AS3000, but it is a bit pricey. Crucial & Kingston are the most recommended RAM manufacturers on these boards might as well take a look at those 2.
