    Hi,

I need to upgrade the RAM on an Acer Aspire 3002 from 256MB to 2GB, this is my first time upgrading a notebook...so dont want to make the mistake of buying the wrong parts. I opened it up and is has a Samsung PC2700s module in it. It doesnt say how many pins it is though. Do i buy 200pin DDR SO-Dimm for notebooks module? Or does it use a different type of RAM?

    Im planning to put in 2 Kingston KVR400X64SC3A/1G 1024mb so-dimm , 200 pin - ddr400 , pc3200 , 3-3-3. Will it work?

    Thanks for your Help!

Both DDR and DDR2 are 200pin. So Just watch out to select the correct one.

The Kingston should work, the specifications match the spec required by the 3002.

I own an aspire 3002lci and can tell you that there might be a chance for those Kingston's not to work.

ASpire 3002 comes with DDR 333mhz memory modules. So, if you buy a 400mhz ddr stick, it is higly posible for it NOT TO WORK.

YOu sould buy 333mhz DDR modules, 2.5 CL. I recomend you KINGSTON, OCZ or NOVATECH (made in argentina).

I recently installed NOVATECH on my lap. These memory modules are excelent.
