    Hi,

I've had an Acer Aspire 3023WLMi for over a year now, originally it didn't come with a bluetooth module installed, (although it has a bluetooth button on the front which enables/disables the module if installed), which at the time didn't bother me, because I didn't have any other bluetooth gadgets. However I've just upgraded my mobile to a new nokia which does have bluetooth, and it wold be nice if I could get my laptop and mobile to communicate without wires.

I've read a previous post on this forum (in the archives I think), that says there is room for a bluetooth module on the motherboard, between the exhaust fan & power socket, they also suggested www.mk-electronic.de for the part, with P/N 54.A14V5.004, however I've had a search through the model numbers, and parts, but can't find a bluetooth module for an Aspire 3020 series. I've also searched partmaster.co.uk, valutech.co.uk & laptopbits.co.uk

Does anyone know where I can find one of these? Or what the module part number is?

    Thanks in advance!

    Ben

Any Mini PCI Bluetooth Module will do the job. However, it is often a problem to find these as the drivers are specific to a particular make of notebook. They are also very expensive.

I suggest getting a USB Bluetooth Dongle. They are cheap, and easy to use and reliable.

    Hi Lil,

I have considered these, however, I would prefer an internal solutions, as I already have enough USB add-ons to carry around (mouse, external drive, skype phone, smartcard reader etc), it also means I'm less likely to forget or leave the dongle somewhere!

    Cheers

    Ben
