    Hi Guys

I'm new here and this is my first thread on this forum -

Currently I'm using Acer Aspire 5520 and I've got few questions , which bothered my mind for a wile , I hope I will be able to get some tips or answers on them. So here we go.

First thing which bothers me is battery on this laptop , I just simply don't understand how it works guys , sometimes it runns out in like 30 mins or so maybe even less and all I do at those 30 mins is sitting in internet and browsing pages by using firefox , keep skype 0n and maybe sometimes keep some music on by using winamp . I'm using windows XP x32 , I changed OS when I bought this laptop from original windows vista to windows XP , because it was still new and I was afraid of getting into troubles with it .

Second thing is just that I was woundering for the past few weeks how much would it cost to upgrade memory from those 2GB to 4 GB . Any ideas or well maybe someone does knows the price .

Third and the last one would be overheating problems , how can I fix that - I have been cleaning my laptop once already , I have opened it and cleaned the way to the cooler , because it was all covered with nasty dust - it fixed the problem , but i was just woundering if i have to do it all the time or is there any other way i could keep my pc clean from inside and still get maximum performance and not get bothered by lags time after time when i play my games like ragnarok and lineage 2 lolz .

    Thank you,
best wishes and hope to hear from you guys soon

Laptop batteries will degrade from the moment they are created. Nothing will stop that, although you can avoid some by not constantly repeatedly charging and discharging them. After a year, don't expect that battery to last long.

Your laptop probably uses DDR2 laptop memory.. the lowest at Newegg is only $40 with similar ones priced from $40 to $50

Overheating - you can try undervolting your CPU, but I expect it is design of the chassis that does not allow adequate air flow. I have the same issue on my Aspire 5672

Thanks m8 for a reply on my question I appreciate it .

About the battery that's quite sad but well what to do , but then again is it worth changing it or it's easier to buy a new laptop , coz i might guess if i say that they cost a lot .
