I've had my Acer Apsire 5720 Laptop for just over a year and it has started to play up.
My brother put the Windows anytime upgrade disc in the drive and since then the laptop hasnt been the same. I got it working again and it was fine until yesterday when i installed my printer and it then wouldnt open the internet page at all and all the worked through the internet was Msn Messenger.

I would like to restore it back to factory settings to try and fix the problem.
I have done system restores and cleared unneeded files etc but nothing seems to work.

    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks

It seems like you have some driver conflicts, and quite a history of them.
First, you will need to backup your files on an external harddrive or usb card.
Than you will need to collect the cd's for your applications. Once you find them all, you can reinstall windows and start over on a clean page.
Once the operating system is reinstalled and the harddrive has been formatted, the only drivers for your system will be the ones windows decides to use. Than you can install the drivers from the cd which came with your computer, and then you can reinstall the software, and then your problems should be all sorted out

    Hey,
Thanks for the reply. So what your saying is ... put the disc that my brother put in back into the laptop and start it again?
Is there no little reset button on the laptop? thanks
