    Hi,
Please help me with an answer/advice.
I have Acer Aspire 5720z with video card 8400MGS and I hav another 9650M GT MXMII 1GB DDR2.
I can change the 8400M with my new card 9650, anyone have do this, because I buy it from ebay and they said it`s compatibil and another seller said it`s not.

I have find 2 opinions from ebay sellers :
    1. NO
    2. YES

What is the true, will work the 9650M GT DDR2 1GB, MXM II on a Acer Aspire 5720?

P.S: The chipset for the GF 9650M GT is G6-650-C1
    Thank you in advance,
    Emil

US $120 from ebay (from a Hong Kong seller).
But any idee if this will work on Aspire 5720? I`ll arrive in 3-5 days and I want to know if I`ll used or not.

120? wow, nice deal. It should work, you just need to make sure the heatsink fits properly.
Anyways, even if it doesn't work, I'm sure you will be able to resell it and, maybe, even make some profit

    Item : 180487755751
I don`t know if we allowed to put the link but this is the item no to search on ebay for the 9650M GT, it`s 120$ + 30$ for EMS shippment.

I wonder if the card it`s compatible with the bios , like I saw in another post it`s install ok (physical, it`s fit in the MXM II slot ) but it`s seam when install the nVidia drivers they tell no hardawr found.

    Any resolve for this?

    The total cost it`s 120+30=150$ + customes&vat fee from RO guys :)
I don`t know if I`ll get to sell for 180$ in RO , is to expensive for us :)

    Regards,
    Emil

    Hi,
I installed the video card (9650M GT upgrade from 8400M GS) and everything seems ok, I installed the nvidia 197.16 drivers and no problems but after 5-10 minutes stops an I receive the message that the nvidia driver 197.16 kernel stop and it was been recovered.

I install dirver on my windows 7 ultimate (32 bit).

Any help with a moded driver?

The card work on idle on 44-48 Gpu Temp C and when I open somethink like explorer+firefox and office work on 50-51 C.

Had the same problem with that version (original non-mmx gpu). Remove it and install 195.81.

    It`s work with 185.70 :)

    Now I have a nVidia 9650M GT 1GB DDR2 on Acer Aspire 5720z :)

    Acer Aspire 5720z
    T2310 (upgrade to T5720 2,2 FSB 800, from ebay) :)
    8400M GS 256 (upgrade to 9650M GT 1GB DDR2, from ebay) :)
    2GB Samsung 1024X2 DDR2 667 (upgrade to Corsaire 4GB, 2GBx2 667, DualChanel, from the shop :) ).

And only one game :))) (I never play on this notebook)

    Regards,
    Emil

P.S: The answer for upgrade from 8400m GS to 9650M GT on Acer Aspire 5720z - IT WORK!!! with 185.70 nVidia driver (only this driver is stabile on WIN7) :)

get the 195.62 notebook drivers.. they're the most stable of latest drivers... also use GPU-Z and check if ur card downclocks properly as some NVDIA cards don't due to driver problems..

I check and it seem to downclock properly.
I`ll try the 195.62 but what I`m read from another posts only this drivers works, I install 197.16, 195.81 BETA and after 5-10 min. windows crashed.

Thanks for help I`ll try and post the results :)

    Hallo!
Very interesting experience renewal updating! You could lay out a sreen with videobios and actually a file videobios? It can be made by means of GPU-Z. I will be very grateful. Results of tests in 3dmark06 is also very interesting :).
