Processor: You an use any 35W Socket P processor, right up through the T9900. Quads and Extremes may or may not work.

Memory: You can use a maximum of 8GB of memory assuming your BIOS supports it. Which it most probably does.

Hard Drive: Buy an Intel or Indilinx SSD. You won't regret it.

GPU: It has an MXM GPU, so you can replace it, but I don't know what's the best thing you can get for this at the moment.

Your GPU is near the top of the list of what it can handle and your CPU and memory are fairly good (unless you do image editing, video rendering/encoding or any calculations). Your best upgrade would be a SSD IMO.

A faster storage device will only reduce load times. You won't get more fps. There will be a smaller performance boost going to a 7200RPM drive, but it'll be more or less imperceptible, especially compared to what you'll get going to a good SSD.

Save the money you'd spend on upgrades and put it towards a more powerful gaming machine.
As stated here, the 9600M GT GDDR3 is one of the best MXM-II cards, powerful enough not to make the upgrade to a Radeon HD 4650 DDR2 worthwhile.
The CPU would give a slight bump in gaming, but only if it's something CPU-intensive like Source games or strategy games, and only if they're already maxing your CPU.

SSD FTW !!! You won't recognize your lap after that. When you try it, you get used to it very quick and you wonder how could you live without it. Every time i boot on my old hdd, i find it so so slow...

Best upgrade ever. When i changed my cpu, i didn't see any performance boost but with the ssd...Wow !

I don't say upgrading the cpu is useless but it really depends on what you do on your lap.

BTW, 1056 mhz for your gpu memory, very nice ;)

No, you can't. DDR2 and DDR3 RAM sticks have a different number of pins, so DDR3 would not physically fit in your laptop.

Yeah mostly as for gaming...However the minimum framerate does improve too because textures load faster but the average fps won't change significantly. Just a little less stuttering i guess. Look all those bench if you want to know what i mean :

You can go for a cpu too, but it will give some boost only in some specific games/applications...while the ssd improves the whole computing experience, everything goes obviously faster and it is damn pleasant ;-).

In short, if you want the perfect lap, get a cpu+ssd like me :D
