Bought in August with 3GB DDR2 667MHz, just installed 2x 2GB DDR2. It has Vista Home Premium 32 bit right now. I'm wondering whether I should install Windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit. It has the AMD M780G Chipset. Basic specs:

    AS6530-6522 Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium ; AMD Athlon™ X2 Dual-Core Processor QL-62 (1MB L2 cache, 2.0GHz); 3GB (2/1) DDR2 667 SDRAM; 250GB hard drive; integrated Super-Multi drive; 5-in-1 card reader; Acer® CineCrystal 16.0" WXGA (1366 x 768) TFT display; integrated ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 graphics; 802.11b/g/Draft-N WLAN, gigabit LAN, V.92 modem, webcam; six-cell battery

I got the Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit upgrade disk, but haven't installed it. Since I have upgraded this to 4GB RAM, I'm thinking maybe I should install 64 bit Windows 7 instead. I have another laptop, a Lenovo Thinkpad T60 (running XP Pro right now), whose Intel chipset will only accommodate 3GB addressable RAM. So, if I understand things correctly, it makes no sense to install 64 bit Windows on it. Therefore, I'm thinking I should maybe use the 32bit Windows 7 upgrade disk I have for the Lenovo and get 64 bit Windows 7 for the Acer Aspire. Does this make sense? Will the Acer Aspire fully support the 4GB in the machine?

I did some searching in an effort to determine whether or not the AMD M780G chipset in the Acer will be able to address all 4GB in the machine (as I said, the Lenovo's Intel chipset, from over 3 years ago, is only able to address 3GB), but I couldn't find that information. I would guess that it can, being a much newer chipset, but it's just a supposition. What do you think?

Yes M780G should be able to access more than 4GB being a relatively new chipset.
Install Windows 7 64bit since you have 4GB of RAM.

personally , i would get 64bit even if it doesn't work... 64bit generally feels faster than 32bit...
