I have a TimelineX 4830TG with the i5-2450M Processor, 8GB RAM and Nvidia 540M GPU. I know the CPU is a 2 Gen i5. Is it possible to upgrade to a 3 Gen i5/i7? I know it's not possible to upgrade the GPU.... right?

I use my laptop for graphics work on print ads, websites, business cards, etc. I do a little 3D gaming (when my wife forces me to stop working). I'm hoping the processor upgrade would cut down graphics rendering times on large files. I plan on upgrading to a SSD for stability... would this cut down on load times too?

The laptop is important because at times I go to my clients location and they like to see changes as we're in meeting.

    Thank you for your help!

Found this thread on upgrading CPU. Super Moderator, downloads, says 'it is possible' but then suggests waiting on the newer model. I don't really care for the new model and don't want to buy a whole new computer. If it is possible how would I go about it? Thank you.

You can't upgrade from a 2nd generation CPU to the 3rd generation.
