    Hi,

I have an Acer Aspire 3000, and earlier this evening I started it up while pressing the escape key as I had read that this would get me into the start-up menu. However what actually happened was that the computer turned itself off after holding down the escape key for about 3 seconds and now it won't turn on again, there is no power at all when I press the power button.

Has holding down the escape key done somethng really bad?
How can I get power back to the computer and turn it on again?

    I appreciate any feedback.

    Regards,

    John Curwood

have you tried unplugging the notebook, remove the battery, then hold the power button down for 10 seconds then put the battery in and connect the power and try the notebook, it might work!

Thankyou Tinderbox, that did the trick :D . What exactly did that process do, reset the power switch or something?

    Cheers,
