    Acer Aspire laptop replacement compatibility

    I have an Acer Aspire laptop and the screen is badly damaged. I am looking to purchase a replacement screen. However, I cannot find a one for the series model 5742-6690 (PEW71). Is there another replacement screen that may be compatible with this model?

    The laptop's SNID is 10104938116.

    Unfortunately I wasn't able to find your specific model Acer Aspire 5742-6690 so I just searched for Acer 5742 in general. The specific model shouldn't really matter since it should only affect minor changes within the laptop. Check out this website.

    Acer will probably service it and fit a compatible screen for you via RMA, but you're looking at a hefty price when you go through the manufacturer - especially if it's out of warranty status.

    Look into online retailers that specialize in laptop screens, and contact their support for assistance. Be sure to give them your exact model number so that they can either find a compatible replacement, or maybe give you a part number they know of for a replacement if they don't have it.
