Please, tell me, what size limit does bios have in Acer 2400 notebook. Currently i have 40 GB. I know for sure, that 80/100 GB drives may be installed, but i want 160 or 200 harddrive. Is it possible? The interface is IDE/ATA.
Thank U!!

Well, you can upgrade to a 100Gb 7200rpm drive, or up to a 250Gb 5400rpm drive.
Your laptop is not that old, it should support the higher capacity drives without a problem.
It is the pentium 2 and 3 laptops which have an issue addressing harddrives greater than 137Gb. It is an LTA error.
Just make sure that you get a PATA harddrive.
According to Acer's website, it supports 60Gb and larger ATA 100 harddrives

If you need to update the bios, here is the site to go to: (just select your model, and look through the pdf for the correct link for a bios upgrade)

Your laptop should have no problem recognizing a 250Gb harddrive
