My problem is that when i turn on my Acer aspire 5520g the screen is black, only the the power light is blinking continuously.
Does anybody knows what can be a problem?

I already read quite a lot of forums on this topics (but none on 5520g model) and found out that it might be a bios problem and that i should make a bios recovery. but when new bios downloaded the file should be renamed, but i have no idea how to rename it regarding my model.
    any idea please...

    thanks in advance
    u.

It could be many things causing it.
    Probably a hardware failure.

    First try re-seating the ram.

    Also this:
Take out the battery and power cord.
Hold the power button for 1 min.

Put the battery and power cord back it, try to boot.

I already re-seat all the components that can be removable (disc, ram, cd rom) and nothing changed. the only thing that can't be removable is graphic (integrated). i assume it is either that, mother board or this bios thing.
any idea what to do next?

i also tried what u suggested me, but nothing new...

looks like signs of dead GPU maybe? Or a loose LCD cable?

yesterday i read in one forum that someone had the same problem and after a while he accidently found out that the computer boots after pressing it hardly arround touchpad. i tried the same story and it worked - i could easily reach windows and copy all my files.
But today after another try i could not boot it again although i tried to press it around touchpad (the same story - power light blinks, fen and cd rom are staring again an again).
so, LCD cable is not the problem, maybe GPU is i guess...

That's a known faulty GPU. just google it.

    That is probably your problem.

There may be an extended warranty because of this nvidia thing.

If you have no warranty, then you can try BGA reflow.
There are many youtube videos with instructions.

Basically all you need is a heat gun, get one at your local hardware store for $15. set it to 300C, heat up the gpu for a few mins.

    That should help.

Otherwise you will probably need BGA reworking/ reballing.
    Or a new motherboard.
