Hi,
I recently bought a replacement screen off ebay for a 5740G acer aspire, i removed the old screen because it was cracked and borken, put the new on in, plugged the LCD cable in screwed it in and when i start up the laptop the screen dosnt light up or get recognised, when i plug the old screen in, start up, and then replace the screens the new screen lights up and works fine.
so please anyone know what i have to do???
PS: on the new screen there is a locking connector that the old one didnt have, dunno what that is

Got any pictures of that connector?

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Practically all new Acers have LED screens so no inverter. You should be able to use the existing LVDS cable. Perhaps your new screen is defective?

Use the old cable that came with your other monitor. No reason why it should be broken too if the screen was cracked. Do a few more tests and if it wont work contact the manufacturer and tell him it's DOA.
If you have any issues just start up a dispute on paypal and make him give you the money back. You did use paypal didn't you...? -
do both screen have the same reference?
Not all screens are interchangeable.
