Hi Guys,
I had an Acer Aspire 6935g with T9600 QS installed for 6 months and everything was ruining fine, temps were low and two weeks ago it was on for about 9hours after that I installed Batman AA and plunged the laptop to a 50 inch TV, 10 min playing the game on Very High seatings it just turned of. I though it overheated, pulled out the power supply and tried with the battery but no luck and when I tried plunging back the power plug it had a sparking noise. When i cracked it open it had no indication that something had happened. The chip looked like it was just received from the seller and other chips(GPU, BIOS) were fine too.
Would it be wise to put the chip in another laptop if it seams to be in a perfect condition?
And could this be the chips fault?
PS. Laptop had good ventilation.
Thanks

where was the sparking noise comming from?
Did you try turning the notebook on again? -
if it just died i doubt it was the CPU
try removeing it and booting again (if it beeps or anything then its the CPU) -

I hope you had adequate ventilation underneath and it was not sitting directly on a carpeted floor.

The sparking noise came from laptops power connector when i tried connecting the cord in the hole and it's dead, doesn't boot at all...
Should i try putting the CPU in a new laptop? because it shouldn't just kill a laptop if its defected in some way... well the chip looks brand new...
Thanks for the reply. -
the chip` is proably fine what it sounds like is your PS blew ..... which means it fried your mobo ....
the CPU may have survived who knows only way to be sure it to try it in another laptop.
But based on what i have read from you the CPU did not break it -
Hmm, it probably has something to do with either the DC jack, or the PSU, or both. You might have to have it checked though, since the damage could be invisible to the eye.

voltimeter would be handy
