I started up Everest today, as it turned out forgetting that what I was looking for actually came with Windows, and happened to notice it reported my CPU temperature as 30 degrees. This is far below what I've seen before when my laptop's been in ambient room temperature, so I fired up RightMarkCPUClockUtility, which I usually use to monitor temperature - and it reported 46.8 degrees Celsius.

Now which one is accurate? The difference is almost 5% of the difference above absolute zero, so surely one must be incorrect. Maybe this is why I've been having such high CPU temps relative to GPU temps and other people's recorded CPU temps?![]()
CPU1 was about 2 degrees above CPU0 in RightMark, as usual.

Try notebook hardware control as well...

Core Temp will give you a good thermal readout for each cores temperature.

Core Temp seems to agree mostly with RightMark, with both at 44 right now. Everest is at 66 now - strangely higher now while it had been lower later. Not sure where it's getting its information from - oh well. Thanks.

Do you live somewhere cold? I notice that my laptop can be very cold for the first couple minutes. But then after a couple of minutes it warms up into the 50C range. If your laptop physically feels cold to the touch then it is probably giving you the right readings.

Actual CPU Temp?
