    Hey everyone,
I just ordered a Dell Inspiron 1505 with 1 gb ram included. I was thinking about taking one of the 512mb sticks out and replacing it with a gig stick from newegg so I have 1512 MB of ram. Is this ok to do? I don't know a lot about dual channel memory, so I don't know if this would actually speed it up. Do you think it'd be worth it? I'm going to be doing a lot of video editing on it, so I want it pretty fast.

Also, if this a good thing to do, any recommendations on which RAM to buy?

    Thanks,
    Josh

well it wouldn't be 1512.... because one gig is actualy 512x2... so 1048...
    so you'd have 1048 + 512... so... 1060

i'm no expert... but i think that would work

i dont get stabilo's math here....

I believe you can switch one out and put a gig in there to in as long as its compatible with the system u are you using.

512 x 2 is 1024. so it comes to total of 1536MB ram. I dont think that dual channel is that big a deal, and adding more memory isnt a problem as long as it is compatible.
