My new work laptop is an HP Zbook 17 G2. I have used my work laptop for the past 3 years for audio recording, and it works pretty well. However, due to two main factors 1) I've had an itch to try an SSD for a long time now and 2) separation of concerns for personal/professional computer use, I'm considering getting one of these drives to hook up with this beast.

    I have some questions:

    1. What kind of drive do I need? External? The big clunky docking station has some sort of slot in it, so I'm not sure if that is a HD enclosure or what. Recommended drive model?
    2. Will I be able to make my system dual-boot? My company is a big corporation and the current drive is encrypted, McAffee installed, anti-virus and system settings you can't mess with. Again, with separation of concerns a totally separate operating system and the SSD would be ideal, if it is possible. Is it as simple as changing the boot priority to favor the new drive, when present (i.e., at home)?
    3. Is the speed going to be excellent? :)
    Thanks all...

So I found out that the slot is a SATA bay, I suppose I'll need something like this and this to put the drive in. I couldn't find a specification of what version of SATA is supported, but I'm hoping 3.

I don't think it should be a problem to make this the boot drive when the laptop is docked, do you?
