I recently bought two 23'' Acer monitors. I bought a VGA splitter and connected them both to it and the splitter to my VGN-FW43G. However, the monitors now have identical displays while the laptop has a different display. Any idea to either have 3 displays, or the monitors having 2 different displays but the laptop having no display? I tried closing the laptop but then it just powered off. Not sure what to do, thanks.

I don't think you can have a laptop outputting to 3 displays unless you have more than one display expansion port i.e. a VGA and a HDMI and the laptop monitor like I have on my HP. VGA splitters won't let you split a VGA signal in to two seperate monitors, just split the signal identically so your external monitors can show the same thing, for example split it across a monitor and a projector for presentations.

Try getting an express card with VGA output or something.

Or a USB to VGA could do it. They're about £30.
