What'd be the performance difference be between a 9-cell battery at 4800 mAH and 7800 mAH? Does it simply mean it'll last longer? And what are the affects on the overall usage life of the battery?

I think this is an extremely basic question, but I must suck at using the search function...I can't find anything talking about capacities for the life of me. >_>

    Bingo.

You mean how many years use you'll get of the battery? Better than the 4800mAH, as each cell has more capacity, so at the same wear rate, it will last much longer.
