I recently installed a Crucial 256GB mSata in my M14X R2. Its been running excellently for about two weeks now. The drive it replaced was a 120GB Mushkin mSata. There were no problems with the Mushkin, but I wanted the freedom of more space and was able to pick up the Crucial. Im really happy with the results so far.
I have an enclosure for the Mushkin, a MyDigital SSD USB 3.0 mSATA Case.
I have the old OS on the Mushkin, but I would like to use the drive as an external backup for my work files--mostly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and various other files. However, I will be leaving the country for a year and Id also like to keep the Mushkin as a backup OS in case anything happens with the Crucial.
Any suggestions: should I reformat the Mushkin or keep it unused in case of emergency?
If I keep the OS on the Mushkin, would it be a good idea to use the remaining space for work files? The Mushkin currently has about 60GB free.
Thanks

I don't see why not, you can use it as backup OS and workfile backup as well. I'm sure 60 GB is more than you need for your workfile

If you keep the OS and turn off hibernation on the drive you can gain back up to 12GB of useable space.
