Hey all![]()
After buying my new laptop for uni (Satellite P750), I stumbled across this forum after i was curious as to if i can swap the screen from my new laptop to a 1080p one. This is my first laptop and it is a hell of alot faster than my laptop (That recently died during a power surge while in a storm)
Any-who, i spent more time looking for a laptop that was i7, could play Crisis on high (ha-ha) but never thought to think that the screen was only 720p.
I know i shouldn't complain, but i am a stickler for these sorts of things, and resolution really bothers me when i KNOW there is better out there.
Anyway to get back to the point lol i was wondering if i could maybe buy another Toshiba LCD panel + cable and swap them over? I am okay at soldering but as i am new to the laptop world i am not sure what is possible and what is "too much work".
Thanks for reading this far![]()
PS If it is possible i would love to do a "How-to" video for anyone else interested in doing the same thing![]()
Cheers!

It should be similar to most other notebooks with led screens so any guide out there should be a good place to start.
It shouldnt involve soldering. Just check the connection on your motherboard to see how many pins you have, it may be a factor in determining whether you can get a higher res screen to work. -
Would it be ok if after i have researched this a bit more to post up what screen i ntend to buy, just in case there are any obvious things i am mislooking?
I am only new here but regular to forums in general, i don't want to be "THAT GUY" who just registers .. asks one question .. people reply .. and never hear from him again haha -
