If a drive is physically damaged, then by scanning it you are forcing it to access the damaged parts and in all likelihood damage them further. I had the same issue with my drive: I ran "chkdsk /r" on it and a couple of times it more or less fixed it, but then there would be more and more problems. Eventually, the "repair" was breaking more things than it was fixing so I started to use a USB drive until I can replace mine. I think yours must have been even more damaged and stopped working after the first scan. I suppose you can try repairing it again -- maybe it will fix it enough to be accessible for a time -- but in all likelihood, it's gone.

One more thing, can you also tell more about the drive: Where its located? What its used for? How its used? How old is it, i.e. read/writes? Have you had any previous issues with it? In what way did it malfunction?
For example, I have a 3 year old storage drive in my laptop that has worked flawlessly but now I can no longer access the data....
One more thing, it also might be useful if you could acknowledge if a solution worked or was useful. What was your resolution? Did you get it to work or discard it for a new one? Someone else could have a similar issue now, or in the future.
After scanning and repairing my 1TB drive cant no longer access disk ??? Please Help
