Does anyone notice that this is quite a common problem on toshibas in general? Ive used several models and many have had it. Now, just in case you dont know what an air gap is, its where you can press down on a certain part of the laptop (like the palmrest for say), and you will feel the plastic go in a tiny wee bit before you feel it hit another piece of plastic underneath. What this means, is that there is a tiny space between the two pieces of material...the one that you are touching, and the one that its coming in contact with. Also, another way you can tell is that if its the edge or something, you can visibly see that its raised a slight wee bit.

Now, not saying its a big deal cause its not but if you got it on yours, would it bother YOU? Most people would ignore it, or heck not even notice it. But I guess, us notebook geeks just look for these things eh?

if you need me to clarify bit more, let me know.
