Is there an alternative motherboard dual or quad core compatable that can fit in the same slot as the clevo D900T? The motherboard in it has became faulty and instead of buying a new laptop was wonderin if replacing the guts would be cheaper with Xmas being around the corner.

    Intel Pentium 4HT (3.60ghz)
    1 gig ram

Umm, from what I can figure, you want to put the Alienware motherboard in your Clevo. If so, sorry bud. Not going to happen. The P4 and dual cores and quad cores use completely different sockets, and it's unlikely that the motherboard would even fit.

If you put in a different motherboard then it's likely you would need a new screen and other parts.

You would probably also have to modify the case to get it to fit.

I don't have either system so I can't be sure, but make sure you really think carefully about it. This could end up costing more than it's worth.

there is an amd version of that motherboard which supports the athlon fx dual core cpus but it would be hard to find but you might find one on ebay. it is still an out of date computer even with the athlon fx and the best gpu you can get on it is a geforce 7 series gpu which are getting out of date too. youd be better off with a new laptop

Because the Clevo D9XX case has remained virtually unchanged throughout these many years, I too would be interested to see what other motherboards you could swap into it.

The D900K mentioned above is probably your best bet.

But, keep in mind that this would not be a quick, easy, or cheap process. Other components would doubtlessly have to be replaced as well.

In the end, it's probably just in your best interest to buy a new laptop rather than repair this one.

I'd also recommend posting in the Clevo section of the forum as you'll probably receive more help there.

Its quite old so don't waste money trying to repair it... any new $1000 laptop will beat it.... so sell all your CPU and other parts from scrap to get some cash and adding some other cash , buy a new laptop..

i also just noticed your video card is the 7900gtx it could probably sell for quite a bit on ebay on its own as its a rare part which people would be willing to pay a lot for
