Quick Background story, found a great deal on a Alienware, has the RTX 2070 and i7-9700k, the flaw with the laptop is that it has the 60Hz w/o TOBII (GYSNC) screen.

I know some people said you could replace the screen with the 144hz screen but then the issue would be the pins are not exactly the same.
What if I were to replace the whole LCD assembly with a different one, would that work or would that still be and issue with the pins?

    Thank you

I’m also curious about this. Supposedly my 60hz is a 30 pin connector and the 144hz I want to install is a 40pin. eBay sells the 40 pin cable that connects the lcd to the motherboard for $50. Could it be that easy, I am not afraid to tear this whole thing apart if it’s that simple.

If you have the part number for the cable, try calling Dell Spare Parts and order it directly. I found that the 40-pin cable for the Precision 7740 was only $12.99 with free 2-day shipping, and was a brand new cable.

@Speedy Gonzalez might be able to help you out, he did a screen upgrade on his Area 51m.
