I was looking to add a mSata drive to my laptop, but cannot find out if it is r1 or r2. Anyone know how I find that out?

what spec lappy have you got.
yes msata is faster than a standard drive but not as fast as a ssd. prices have dropped so you could get a 512gb ssd like mine for a lot cheaper than it was a year ago.

    - Intel® Core™ i7 2670QM 2.2GHz (3.1GHz w/Turbo Boost, 6MB Cache)
    - 18.4-inch WideFHD 1920 x 1080 WLED Display
    - 16GB Dual Channel DDR3 RAM at 1600MHz
    - Dual 1.5GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M – NVIDIA SLI Enabled
    - 1.5TB RAID 0 (2x 750GB) 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s
    - Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit
    - Slot-Load Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD+-RW, CD-RW)
    - Killer™ Wireless-N 1103 a/g/n 3x3 MIMO for Gaming & Video and Bluetooth 3.0
    - Internal High-Definition 5.1 Surround Sound Audio

There are two drives now in Raid 0 config. I suppose I could replace one drive with a SSD.

So can I add a mSata card? I removed the bottom and it doesn't look like there is a slot there.
