it should work...as long as the macbook has a caddy to hold the ssd. And obviously, you'll need to reinstall the OS

Are the notebook ssd's and hdd's not the same size ? Or if I understand right the ssd is slimmer and requires a caddy?

Both drives should SATA 2.5" and easy to swap. Apple might have some kind of crazy proprietary format, but i highly doubt it.

most notebook harddrives and SSD's are of the 2.5", 9.5mm variety. These should be easy swaps. There are however some SSD's that are 7.1mm. For example my M4 is a 9.5mm drive with a removeable spacer that turns it into a 7mm drive. So just beaware.

Yes, you can swap drives. You will not have any issues.

Both laptops accept standard height 2.5" SATA drives. Any standard height 2.5" SATA drive will work in either laptop.
